There's absolutely no doubt that having made to measure roman blinds can dramatically improve your room's appearance. You wouldn't be unleashing your rooms potential by making compromises with the default sizes of pre-made roman blinds.

Here at curtains made for free, you can have your Alessia Indigo Roman Blinds hand made to the exact sizes you need. And furthermore, we provide our blind making service at no additional cost, so you'll only need to pay for the materials.

We recommend taking 1 cm off your blind width measurement if you are fitting it within a window recess, to be sure of a good fit. Our roman blinds are made using an enclosed headrail cassette system with a sidewinder chain pull, making it very convenient to lower and raise the blind.

All of our roman blind fabrics have been carefully selected for their luxurious quality and design. We minimise visible stitching by hand finishing each blind, to give you an exceptional tailored look and feel.

Note: We strongly recommend choosing our ivory interlined blackout lining for your Roman blind, this improves the pleating, appearance and drape of the blind, even more so on larger blinds which require two widths of fabric.

Cotton Sateen Ivory Lining

Our Cotton Sateen Ivory Lining is a high quality, high thread count fabric that feels soft to touch with a crease resistant finish.

Super Soft Ivory Blackout Lining

Our 100% cotton Super Soft Ivory Blackout Lining is a perfect choice for keeping light at bay. Its insulating properties are great for helping to keep away those chilly window drafts, the lining also has a lovely soft feel.

Interlined Ivory Blackout Lining

With our Interlined Ivory Blackout Lining, your curtains will have an interlining layer that does a excellent job of blocking out the light and help keep those unwelcome window drafts at bay. The lining will also give your curtains a lovely extra layer of padding, making them appear fuller and more luxurious.

Interlined Cotton Sateen Ivory Lining

If you’re looking for a lining that not only gives your curtains a luxurious padded feel, but also helps to keep away those unwelcome window drafts, then our Interlined Cotton Sateen Ivory Lining is the ideal choice for you.

Thermal Ivory Lining

Our Thermal Ivory Lining is a superior quality 100% cotton reverse brushed fabric. Its insulation properties will keep out window chills but won’t block out sunlight, so if you want your curtains to deal with window drafts but not stop any light coming through, this lining is the ideal choice for you.

We strongly recommend choosing our ivory interlined blackout lining, this improves the pleating and drape of the blind.

Choose Your Blind Style
Blind style:

Standard Pleat Roman Blind

Our standard pleat roman blind is the more simple, modern style of roman blind, the top pleat would be approximately 17-25cm deep and all other pleats would fall directly behind. This style would suit a fabric with a larger pattern (plain and striped fabric also work well) complimenting a more contemporary or modern style of décor.

Cascade Pleat Roman Blind

Our Cascade Pleat roman blind is the more decorative option of pleat, the top pleat is smaller than the standard option and the remainding pleats are staggered below giving a more detailed look – this style would suit fabric with a small pattern (plains and striped fabrics also work well) and offers a more classic decorative style.

The overall length of the roman blind when they are in the ‘up’ position would be very similar with both styles of pleating, (approx. 17cm – 25cm) for a more exact depth, please contact us with your required sizes.

Choose Your Chain Pull Options

Chain length is the actual chain drop, E.G a chain length of 50cm, would have a 100cm overall loop.

The chain can be as short as you would like, it does not need to be a particular length according to the length of the actual roman blind as it works on a continuos loop.

Safety recommendations state that the bottom of a blind chain should be at least 150cm above floor height.

We do supply child safety clips which can be fitted to ensure the roman blind chain does not hang loose.
